Hello, I’m Sahar Saviss, a dedicated and compassionate pharmacist with 17 years of experience in the field. I have a strong passion for improving patient health outcomes through accurate medication dispensing and personalized pharmaceutical care.
My journey in pharmacy began with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in 2006 from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. Since then, I have worked in various healthcare settings, including independent and chain community pharmacies, hospitals, and compounding facilities. This diverse experience has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of different aspects of pharmacy practice. I started out as a Pharmacy Intern at CVS/Pharmacy in 2003, setting up their original twenty CVS stores in Southern California, contributing to software system training for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. In 2006, I accepted a full-time Pharmacist position at CVS where I worked till 2011.
In 2011, I took a brief hiatus from the pharmacy world to raise a family. However, my passion for pharmacy never wavered, and I returned to the field on a part-time basis at a local community pharmacy called Rancho Park Compounding Pharmacy. This experience provided me with a unique opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in compounding, a specialized area of pharmacy practice. I trained at PCCA headquarter in Texas on aseptic sterile compound technique, which I used daily at Rancho Park Pharmacy. I quickly moved from a part-time retail pharmacist position to a sterile compounding one, helping prepare and check compounded eye preparations and injectables. I gained an understanding of men’s health, focusing on sexual function, hormone replacement therapy, and hair loss treatments.
As a pharmacist, my primary goal is to ensure the safe and effective use of medications by patients. I am well-versed in medication therapy management, drug interactions, dosage adjustments, and counseling patients on proper medication usage. I believe in building strong relationships with my patients, actively listening to their concerns, and providing them with relevant information to promote adherence and optimal health outcomes. I am a people person, I love the daily interactions with my patients and look forward to going into the pharmacy everyday.
Throughout my career, I have maintained a commitment to staying informed about the latest advancements in pharmacy. I regularly attend continuing education programs, conferences, participate in professional organizations, and keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field. I stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice and pharmacotherapy. This enables me to deliver evidence-based and personalized pharmaceutical care to each patient I serve.
Apart from my role in direct patient care, I am also passionate about promoting health and wellness within the community. I have conducted medication education sessions, health screenings, and public awareness campaigns to enhance medication safety and improve health literacy.
After a decade of part-time dedication, I took a significant leap into ownership in April 2022, partnering with Payam Shabboui at Wilshire Le Doux Medical Pharmacy. We successfully expanded many services to the community, embracing a new chapter in pharmacy management.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy staying active with hobbies such as hiking, exercising, and spending time with my three beautiful daughters. These activities help me maintain a well-rounded perspective and enhance my ability to connect with others.
